Yvonne Murray
I don't call myself a poet but someone who writes poems. I am however, a creative, an inspirational motivator and author of Pain in the Mask (adults) and Bacti – the Bactrian Camel (children 3 -10).
Working from home in March 2020 gave me the time and opportunity to focus on doing more with my writing, joining online poetry groups and sharing my love of poetry with family, friends and poetry lovers. The goal was always to share my art by encouraging and inspiring those around me to write whether poetry or prose or just words. And no, poetry doesn’t have to rhyme.
Pain in the Mask is all about being you – don’t hide from yourself – remove the mask – it’s OK. It can be a real pain in the mask holding in your truth – let it out and be free.
Bacti – the Bactrian Camel is also about acceptance. Accepting our hair, our skin, our extra tooth, freckles our individuality- we should accept that we are enough just as we are and this is what our children should know.
