RA Mitchell

RA Mitchell did not set out to be a writer. She wanted to be a professional reader, but sadly, those did not exist in the 90s, so instead, she got her first job at an ice cream shop. This job did not last, but her love of ice cream did.

After many different career paths (library clerk, teacher, art gallery employee) in various states within the US, she became an administrator at an Australian university and began writing.

She lives with her husband and son who keep her entertained and on her toes. When she's not working, reading or writing, she is taking long walks, doing word searches, pretending to garden, baking, and watching British murder mysteries while eating ice cream.

Short Stories, General Fiction
And the world came tumbling out

Are you seeking new perspectives on life? Then step inside the kaleidoscopic world of RA Mitchell where humour loves company and fantastical creatures abound. In this collection, you will meet an automaton that comes to life for an exclusive dinner date, the ruthless celebrity chef who masterminds a vanilla cartel, and two buskers who are locked in a dangerous rivalry.

The nineteen stories span the globe, taking readers on a journey in locations such as Chicago, Moscow and Melbourne. From the mundane to the ethereal, dark comedy to romance, this collection has something to offer everyone.
